Football manager transfers are a part of the game where experience matters more than anything else. Getting a feel for how much you can push teams for in FM, how long you can wait for a good offer to show up, when to take a good transfer offer to sell your wonderkid and when to hold on. It’s the sort of thing that can settle your finances for years if you get it right. But, what happens, when Football Manager is working against you? What happens if for some reason you can’t sell a player?

Football Manager cannot stop you from selling everyone (although there are some players with unbelievably bad contracts in FM that can’t be helped, looking at you Coutinho). There are various tips and tricks for getting a player off your books and some cash into your pocket while not ruining the morale, cohesion, and dynamics of your FM squad. Maybe it’s a tactical change or maybe you have your eye on a free transfer you need the budget room for, this is how you sell a player you cannot sell.
