Transfer deadline days in Football Manager are more important than ever, so how can you turn them into a big day of celebration? You need to have an intimate knowledge of how your transfer and payroll budget actually works. The actual mechanics of your FM finances can determine whether you sign that one last crucial transfer or whether your scouting and transfer window becomes a complete failure.

This may have been the smartest transfer deadline day of my life. I feel like the new deadline format actually encourages that feeling because it happened during our network FM game too. Everything comes down to one or two moments and it replicates the real-life feeling of trying to get the paperwork in to the league office at 11:59 on deadline day, but actually inside of Football Manager and without having to use a fax machine. I hope you land that one extra player because of this.
