When I embarked on a youtube career I didn’t really understand how constant the job was. You always have to be there to approve and upload videos with the appropriate title and description, like writing this fancy bit right here. I also did not factor any of this in during our family trip to Alaska. We ended up without an internet connection for a whole week. Then our host told us that there was internet service nearby… on the top of the mountain across the bay.
In a beautiful inlet near Seward, Alaska we had to take a boat across this deep body of water just to start our climb. There was something deeply contradictory about hiking a beautiful mountain in the Alaskan bush, as far away from society as I could possibly be, while carrying a computer to its summit to post a video where I sit at my computer laughing at Football Manager memes for your enjoyment. I did not reconcile it and tried to enjoy the irony as well as the view.
