We’re all getting ready for the World Cup in Qatar next year, but what if I told you a tournament that is FIFA sanctioned was already on those fields warming up the stadiums for the world’s biggest sporting event. It’s a tournament that has no geographic imperative and has existed for over 50 years but is JUST NOW part of FIFA’s portfolio for international soccer / football tournaments it offers. I spend my life surrounded by the sport and had only barely heard of it until now.
It’s not the World Cup, but it does have great rivalries and a load of communal pride at stake that can make any football or soccer fan get behind the teams.
