After strolling to success in Slovak Second Division, Vladimir Latunov led his FC Nitra side into the top tier. After an opening day defeat, which was Latunov's first in Slovakia, things go well for the new boys as they beta perennial champions Slovan Bratislava and sit in a surprise second place heading into the winter break. A Brazilian signing performs well and young striker Deivids Kalnins begins to show his potential.
