This is one of the most epic FM21 database/mods I’ve seen this year, changing Football Manager 2021 back 20 years in time to the 2001/02 season. In this video, I provide an overview and show you how to get started playing it yourself!
This retro database has 6 playable nations and 9 playable leagues with all teams and players copied from Championship Manager Season 01/02 into FM21 exactly as they were back in CM01/02.

INSTALL INSTRUCTIONS FOR STARTING A NEW GAME
1) Start a new career and choose the default FM21 'Football Manager 2021' database in the dropdown as shown at 1:24.
2) Tick the editor data file for the database titled 'The 2001 02 DB MASTER’.
Make sure this is the only editor data file active as seen at 1:32.
For it to appear you must download the .FMF file linked above and place it in your 'editor data’ folder. This folder’s location can vary depending on your PC.
For Windows users it will be here:
C:\Users\**YOUR USERNAME**\Documents\Sports Interactive\Football Manager 2021\editor data
For Mac users there are 2 possible locations:
Macintosh HD\users\**YOUR USERNAME**\Documents\PUBLIC\Sports Interactive\Football Manager 2021\editor data
OR
Macintosh HD\users\**YOUR USERNAME**\Documents\Sports Interactive\Football Manager 2021\editor data
3) Once you have selected the editor database file to confirm choose advanced setup in the bottom right corner. Choose how many of the playable leagues you want to load and then click Approximate Player Count size in the top right and choose Advanced from the dropdown.
Then choose as many nations as you want to load players from beside the leagues you have loaded. Tick the boxes saying Players Based In Nation. Even if your computer says that the number of players exceeds the recommended level but you can ignore that. Finally, press Start Game and enjoy, please note creating the game can take a little while due to the 1,000,000+ changes.
